The Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce has completed its first report - Hear her voice - on the first part of its work examining and reviewing coercive control and the need for a specific offence of commit domestic violence.

Discussion Paper 3 - Women and girls' experiences across the criminal justice system as victims-survivors of sexual violence and also as accused persons and offenders
Discussion Paper 3 seeks community feedback on women and girls’ experience of sexual violence in the criminal justice system, as well as the experience of women and girls as offenders.
If you, or a woman or girl close to you have lived experience of sexual violence, we would like to know what helped you, what made things more difficult for you and what you think needs to be changed.
We invite input from women and girls about their experiences as accused/offenders with police, lawyers and the criminal justice system, including sentencing and whilst in custody, and their re-integration into the community. We want to know what works and what could be done better.
We also seek input from the broader community, including from experts and academics working in these fields, about protecting and promoting human rights and how to best protect the rights of the victim while ensuring the accused person’s right to a fair trial.
We want to hear your views so that we can make the best possible recommendations to government in our report which is to be delivered by the end of June 2022.
This discussion paper poses a series of questions throughout. These are designed to provoke thought and consideration of specific issues. You may wish to respond to all of these questions, only those that are of interest to you, or none at all. You may wish to raise other relevant matters.

Discussion Paper 2 - Women and girls' experience of the criminal justice system
Discussion Paper 2 seeks community feedback on our proposal to focus on women and girls’ experience of sexual violence in the criminal justice system, as well as the experience of women and girls as offenders.
The paper outlines key themes we could potentially consider. We want to know if you agree with these themes, or if there are any other themes you think we should be looking at.

Discussion Paper 1 - Options for legislating against coercive control and the creation of a standalone domestic violence offence
The Queensland Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce released its first discussion paper seeking community opinion on how best to legislate against coercive control as a form of domestic and family violence.
The paper also examines the need to create a new offence of ‘commit domestic violence’ in Queensland law and offers a range of options for discussion.
